A sweet little song that I wrote with two sweet people is out today, peoples. Detour. My memories of the day - Hailey Collier's herbal tea, dark chocolate, Evan Klar's Bahn Mi recommendation, ooh and oversized cookies. The vocals and piano for Detour were written and recorded the same day it was born, this is a newish experience for me and I. bloody. love it! You can't easily re-create the excitement that comes with bringing a new song into life when you go to re-track it sometimes months and months later. Ben from Old Sea Brigade who I've never met in person was able to lend his sweet voice to give this song some more texture and depth. The release of this was made possible by a whole bunch of people x
lyrics
Danger danger
I can read your mind
Wouldn’t change it
‘Cus I fall this way
And feels so right
Yeah it all feels right
I can’t believe that I would ever stand so close to you
It doesn’t matter where this ends up, I ain’t leaving
Know what I’m doing, I’ve already thought all this through
I know I know
Maybe I maybe I’m
Just a detour back to
Maybe I maybe I’m
Just a detour back to
I don’t mind no ‘cus I know that it’s gonna hurt
I’m just a detour back to her
I try to act like it ain’t ever gonna bother me
But when you talk like that you make it feel so easy
Know where I’m headed, I’ve already thought all this through
I know I know
Maybe I maybe I’m
Just a detour back to
Maybe I maybe I’m
Just a detour back to
I don’t mind no, ‘cus I know that it’s gonna hurt
I’m just a detour back to her
If you go running back running back I’m gonna let you go
If you go running back running back I’m gonna let you go
If you go running back oh I know that it’s gonna hurt
I’m just a detour back to her
Oooooh, mmmm
Oooooh, mmmm
